SUMMARY:UNSUNG HEROS Awards & Gala Dinner
DESCRIPTION:On a date to be communicated\, GABC will be hosting an award and gala dinner to celebrate Unsung Heroes on the continent.    \nThe GABC Unsung Heroes Africa Enterprise Award honours individuals who\, through business excellence\, provide extraordinary leadership to the society and markets at large.  We are reminded of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s SONA held February 16\, 2018 speech\, quoting the late Hugh Masekela’s “Thuma Mina” song.  Translated means “send me.”  By referencing the famous Artist\, he affirmed heritage\, history and culture and at GABC we have a longstanding history\, heritage and culture of celebrating Unsung Heroes in the pursuit of Enterprise and Business Excellence.   \nWhat’s the selection criteria?  GABC selects from a list of potential recipients of people who are from any age group and have traded for years and who have been entrepreneurs or business owners for years either in causes and communities (non-profit organizations) or markets (social enterprises) that they provide product\, services and create employment at a massive scale.  Often times\, this type of honour is only delegated to people who serve under religious ministries or civil society organizations (CSO) but is also important to recognize the role of African Businesses/Entrepreneurs who create large scale jobs in the countries\, regions and communities they do business in addition to providing products and services to the market.  They too\, practice servant leadership.  Furthermore\, highlighted by how GABC has observed that through their servant leadership they receive accolades and admiration of those around them\, in addition\, to the end-users and beneficiaries of their economic contribution.  \nUnsung Heroes\, we celebrate you.
