It was on the day of the launch and networking event of the GABC South Africa, 27 September 2018 when I was introduced to Ambassador Sally Mbanefo, Honourable Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artworks, Culture and Tourism – Anambara of State, Nigeria by our esteemed key note guest speaker, Mutumwa Mawere, CEO of the1873FM, when I received a personal invitation to the Gala Dinner of the African Women of Excellence 2018. That is the power of networks and establishing new relationships. As the Director of Women Affairs, Global Africa Business Club I was privileged to be in the company of powerful influential women in the development landscape of South Africa, like Hon. Speaker of the National Assembly, Baleka Mbete and Hon. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, H.E. (Mrs) Jeanette Kagame, First Lady of the Republic of Rwanda and the Chairman and Founder of Imbuto Foundation, H.E. Amina Mohammed, Cabinet Secretary (Minister) for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kenya amongst and many other Dignatories. The “theme was transforming the world with love”

which I resonate with as my personal mantra of emitting the Spirit of agape (God’s love) and peace in spaces one has been invited to be part of.
On Sunday, Mrs. Xernona Clayton, described as AWEA Living Legend gave a riveting keynote address at the special event called Sisters Keepers Talk (SKT). Mrs. Clayton touched on many key aspects that affect Women in the workplace, Women in leadership and Women in relationships with men with the crossing-cutting key theme of VALUES being central to defining ones’ essence of woman-hood. She encouraged each African Women to remain committed to keeping their standards and values not matter how difficult the situation is whether professionally or personally. Women must remain vigilant in preserving their dignity.
GABC was also celebrated as one of the supporters for the AWEA as the representative of the Women Affairs focus area it was an honour for our organization to be recognized along with other legendary contributors.
Thank you to African Union and Diaspora African Forum for creating dialogue for African Women working across all sectors and supporting the role of women to realize their vision for investing in Africa’s future!
